Goa - Beach
Anjuna

Anjuna Beach is popularly known as the freak capital of the world and not without reasons. It claimed popularity for its Trance Parties and the Hippies who tried to synthesize the spiritual traditions of the East and the art, ideas and the music of the West. Sometime in the late 1950s to mid-1960s, the area was "discovered" by a group of travelers, including "Eight Finger Eddie," and a small international psychedelic scene began to meet there to party during the dry season.

Anjuna is just the right place for lazing holidaymakers. Besides the calm waters of the Arabian Sea lapping softly on the Indian shore, Anjuna comes live with its ever-famous full-moon parties and the Wednesday flea market to take one on to a trance trip.

Benaulim

Goa Benaulim beach is a very quiet beach. Benaulim beach in Goa starts where Colva beach ends. The best thing about Goa Benaulim beach is that it is still rather undiscovered by domestic tourists even though it is a famous beach for fishing. Benaulim beach gets fairly crowded in the evenings and on weekends. Local visitors often frequent this Benaulim beach; they get off their buses about a kilometer away and pour onto the beach

Baga Beach

Amongst the popular beaches in India is the Baga beach Goa. Baga Goa lies 10 km west of Mapusa and really speaking is an extension of Calangute. Baga Goa India is smaller than the Calangute and Colva beaches lying on either side of it. Baga Goa is the perfect getaway for those looking for a little bit of peace and quiet after the activity of the other two beaches.

Baga is a fishing beach with brown sand that sees a lot of international tourists sun-bathing in its golden sun, as a grove of palms gently sways in the wind. The Baga River flows along one side of Baga beach Goa offering a good alternative for children and those who are not too confident about swimming in the sea. On one of the far ends of the beach, lies a group of black rocks against which the sea crashes in dramatic explosions of spray.

Bogmolo

Goa Bogmalo beach sports a mixture of serenity and commercialism, splashed with simple beauty where one can happily lose oneself. Initially Bogmalo beach in Goa was a fishing village until tourists started pouring in and tourism stated catching up in this small Indian state of Goa. Despite modern eating joints, hi-tech shops selling handicrafts surrounding it, the village at Bogmalo still manages to stay alive.

Bogmalo beach in Goa is clean and not very crowded like Anjuna beach or other beaches in Goa and while at Goa Bogmalo beach, you can definitely go in for a swim as the water is quite safe for swimming. After the swim, you can try out those numerous eating joints which offer delicious

Colva

If you want to stimulate all five senses at once, undertake a visit to the Colva Beach. Feel the sapphire warm waters of the sea. Smell the sea breeze coming from the Arabian Sea; listen to local bands. Taste some of the superb seafood in the country. See long miles of fascinating and glorious beaches.

The largest and oldest of south Goa's beach resorts, Colva is an exceptional destination for tourists of all hues. A hot-season retreat to Margao's slew of the affluent since a long time long, the beach is one of the most fascinating of South Goa's resorts. However, it is no longer a haven just for the upper crust. These days package tours and cheap hotels allow just about anyone to visit. Its crystal-clear azure waters and white sugar coral sands draw visitors in droves.

Vagator

About 22 kilometers away from Panaji, Vagator beach is one of the most beautiful beaches of Goa as well as the whole world. Northernmost beach of the Bardez Taluka of Goa, the beach of Vagator is the haven for nature lovers. Red cliffs, lava rocks, palm groves, coconut trees, white sandy beaches, green villages, fresh water springs—the place in a paradise for the lovers of sun, sea and sand.

Vagator beach is divided into two parts— North Vagator Beach or Big Vagator and Little Vagator Beach or Ozram Beach. Chapora, the fishing village and the old Portuguese fort located there add to the appeal of the beach of Vagator. There is a series of small beaches in Vagator.
